Hungry for
God
“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages”
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Hungry for God features Hannah More’s mission to understand her identity and reason for being after life’s letdowns. This sets her on a long adventurous faith journey. She faces hard storms and waves of heart wrenching experiences which she later realises were meant to help her deal with and heal from past hurts, breaking down walls built on a wrong worldview and uproot her skewed understanding of faith and God, to build her up again.
At the end of her story, she writes:
“God never revealed the path designed for me when I started my journey. “I would do it all again if I could go back” is a sentiment shared by many brave people who have faced adversity. I guess I am not brave enough to utter those words. If God had shown me the path cut out for me before it began, I would have chosen a different one. However, it’s undeniable that this journey has shaped me into the person I am today. It’s a miracle I still believe in God after everything I’ve experienced. It shows that God’s grip on me is stronger than mine on Him. He used circumstances to create hunger in me, but when I extended my hands for bread, he took me on a journey to teach me how to plough the land, plant seeds of faith and develop patience to see it come to fruition.
God blesses those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. He will fill them and use them to feed others.”
